Katabatic Circus is an annual poetry anthology showcasing speculative poetry of literary merit.
The aesthetic approach of the anthology draws on the complex metaphor of the katabatic imagination (as the hero’s sojourn to the underworld) and the geomorphic power of katabatic arctic winds—as a yawing between material states and realities.
It is that dynamic nexus of meaning-materiality that is intended. We welcome slipstream, fabulist, and magical realist aesthetics as well as multivalent, metaverse, and meta-modernist approaches and theoretics. Complex, nuanced, thought provoking. We look forward to reading the work of future contributors to the Katabatic Circus.
