Short Interview
1. Write a 10-word sentence that embodies how you understand sensory overload.
Bili: During childbirth, I wasn’t an I because I was Sensation.
Pixie: Multi-Sensory input brain cannot process so brain mistranslates/reimprints experience
2. What smell/s would your poem be?
Pixie: Cold, metallic, adrenaline, the smell of eternity, vacuum, sweet aldehyde traces, cosmic dust particles, hydrogen and helium star explosions, notes of drywall, playroom, warm skin musk, ear wax, baby powder, organ meat tang, keratin of fingernails, and starched smocked linen collar dress mixed with a couple drops of blood.
Bili: Stale air injected with the citrus zest scent of a fingered citron.
3. What did you intend your audience to feel when reading your piece?
Bili: A bittersweet unnerving.
Pixie: Fear, Loneliness, Isolation, Curiosity, Tenderness, Union
4. Describe your favorite type of light.
Pixie: Fairy lights at night in Fall, LCD, rainbow and pulsing.
Bili: I love the shifting warmth of sunshine dancing over my skin through a canopy of breeze-stirred leaves.
